Who we are
Web Dev NC ("we", "us") makes the Eye Saver extension for Google Chrome. This policy covers only the extension.
What the extension stores in your browser
Eye Saver saves these in Chrome's extension storage on your computer so the timer works:
- Your settings: break interval, break length, postpone time, skip limit, strict mode, idle pause, fullscreen pause, and sound choices.
- Timer state: when the next break is due, whether a break is running, and how many breaks you skipped or postponed in a row.
We don't receive any of this. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes it.
What the extension doesn't collect
Eye Saver makes no network requests. It has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no ads. It doesn't collect your browsing history, the addresses of pages you visit, page content, form entries, or anything you type.
A small script on each page reports one thing to the extension: whether the page has entered or left fullscreen, so the timer can wait while you watch a video. It doesn't read or change anything else on the page.
Permissions
- Alarms schedules the next break and the warning before it.
- Storage keeps your settings and timer state in your browser.
- Idle checks whether you have stepped away, so a break you already took away from the screen isn't repeated. Chrome reports only active, idle, or locked.
- Notifications shows the warning before a break, and the break itself when no Chrome window is open.
- Scripting and access to all sites place the break screen over the tab you are on, whatever site it is.
- Offscreen plays the chime at the start and end of a break.
Sharing and selling
We don't sell, share, or transfer any data, because the extension doesn't send any data off your computer.
Children
The extension collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version starts sending data anywhere, we will update this page and the effective date before that version is published.
